Fund raising for this hoard of coins
September 1, 2017
A small ‘purse’ hoard of 20 silver coins was discovered by three individual finders whilst searching with metal detectors on land near Ludlow. They were reported under the Treasure Act (1996). HM Coroner has undertaken due diligence in investigating the find – identifying the individual finders and verifying the findspot and landowner. The hoard has been valued by the independent Treasure Valuation Committee and their market value has been confirmed and agreed.
Now the Friends of Ludlow Museum are helping to raise the funds needed to secure the hoard for Shropshire. If you can help then please get in touch with the Chair (Lottie James) or the Treasurer (Tony Mahalski); contact details are given above, in the main menu bar.
